Alex Sopilnyak was born in 1962 in Lviv, Ukraine. He was accepted to the Lviv’s Polytechnical University in 1979 and graduated from the Faculty of Architecture in 1984. He joined the Synyshyn team in April 2006.

About design: Once filmmaker Dovzhenko was supposed to give a lecture to his first year students. He entered the classroom where he was greeted by future producers, then said, pointing to the layer of dust on the podium’s desk: “ This will show up in your works.”, and left the auditorium immediately after.
