Ron first dabbled in Architecture when playing with Lego and building forts with sofa cushions at the tender age of three. Still fascinated with art, design and construction at 18, his high school art and drafting teachers encouraged him to begin his quest to become a 'master builder' by enrolling him at the University of Manitoba in 1993. Here, Ron's eyes were opened and his curiosities were satisfied in one of the few faculties that could creatively blend the studies of both art and science.

Ron received a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Design in 1997, he then enrolled in the Master's program to expand on his knowledge and skills, and to provide himself with the unique opportunity to study in another country. This opportunity came in 1999, when he was granted a five month period studying architecture at the Universidad Autonoma Metropolitana in Mexico City. Mexico had made a significant impression on Ron, but he returned to Winnipeg that summer and met Architect John Synyshyn. He joined the Synyshyn team as a Junior Designer. After a few exciting years at the firm Ron returned to the University of Manitoba to work on his Master's thesis in 2002. During this period Ron remained a contract associate of Synyshyn Architecture while he explored his love for graphic design and digital media as a sessional instructor at the U of M. After graduating from University of Manitoba with a Master's degree in Architecture in 2004, Ron explored the world of freelance design only to rejoin Synyshyn Architecture Interior design as an Intern in 2009. His most notable achievement: adding Lego to the National Master Specification, Division 4.

When not at the office, Ron can be found eating tacos in Osborne Village or running past the Forks on Winnipeg's scenic river walk.
